Stringy Incomplete Print

I printed the poop bin from the included files and it worked very well, as well as a multicolor model I downloaded from CrealityPrint online models, and that worked spectacularly.

I then tried to print a box I downloaded from printables.com, and I got a decent outline of the flat-bottomed box, but then just threads for the base, as shown in the attached photos. This has probably happened to lots of people, but I didn’t find a photo anyone posted quite like this.

What could be the cause?

I then thought it might be a head clog (the second day?) and so I followed a Creality video about using the dipstick to clear it. The extruder then didn’t function anymore, not pulling in filament loaded manually nor from the CFS. I feel like I might have gummed up the extruder so I ordered a new one. I already replaced the nozzle, and can see through the hole in the hot section, so I feel like that’s all fine.

Hello @imaginary.monster
Welcome to the Creality Forum…! Creality-Logo

Possible cause.

Was the file from Printables an .stl or a .3mf file…?

If it’s a .3mf file then the slicer settings might be for a different printer..

Something to check…

Thanks!

It was an STL file. The page for it did say it was designed for a Prusa i3 MK2S.
