the CFS I got with the Sparkx i7 will not retract the filament.

The cfs will not retract no matter what I do if I want the change the color I have to shut off the printer and manually pull it out. This is happening out of the box and is doing it to all the channels.

But it does feed the filament normally (both when inserting it and when starting a print)? Just doesn’t pull it back?

That is right it doesn’t retract unless I manually pull it out.

I have a similar issue with the CFS Lite. It loads without a problem, but will not automatically unload to change filaments. If selecting “Unload” from the screen, Sparkx states there is no filament to unload (after selecting the correct spool bay). A partial solution was to select Load, wait until the machine starts retracting, then manually removing the old filament. CFS Lite sometimes protested with a red flashing light which went away when I re-started the printer. Didn’t see any other solution on-line and suspect this is a bug…

I watched a live stream from the Chinese store. Apparently, the CFS lite is not designed to fully retract. If filament is in the hot end, the Sparkx i7 will cut and retract the filament until it clears the hot end, and discharge the poop. The remaining filament then needs to be manually retracted.

I should have expected it since my AC K3v2 Printer is the same way.

that is not a bug but a feature, this is what allows for faster colour swaps, with the filament not needing to fully retract between colour changes, saving significant amount of time when comparing to a more common “AMS”
