Tips, Tricks, and Troubleshooting techniques

Starting a post for tips and tricks I have found for while navigation the Creality K2 Plus User Experience. As I learn new tips and tricks I will add them to this post.

TIP #1: When I spoke to Creality Support about a system error issue I was getting they asked for me to download the printer’s log files and send them to them. They requested the file be on a USB drive for migration and then emailed to them. When I got the file it was compressed and encripted with 7Zip. I wanted to see what exactly I was sending them so I found the password to be “q!ew5rN7@U2s7;L” without the quotes.

TIP #2: These examples are showing the LAN address of my machine, which you can find on your machine here: (This is my personal LAN IP address, which is inside my firewall, so it is safe from being hacked so I am posting my real-world information safely)

1. get the IP address of your printer from the system menu, mine for example is 192.168.150.170.

How to watch the Video Stream from the printer as a stand alone browser window:

1. Port:8000 shows the video stream. In your browser use the address of 192.168.150.170:8000

TIP #3: How to look at the Bed Level Mesh details to see how warped your bed really is:

1. Port:4408 will connect you to "fluid" allowing you to see the mesh. Go to 192.168.150.170:4408

2. Click on the "Tune" icon on the left and you can now see the mesh.

TIP #4: How to fully factory reset your printer: (Some data is static and will not be deleted)

1. Windows PC download and install Putty @ https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html or any Terminal application your OS uses.

2. login as: root - root@192.168.150.170's password: creality_2024

3. root@K2Plus-D88C:~# echo “all” | nc -U /var/run/wipe.sock

4. ok (When you see this, the K2 will reboot the printer to FULL factory reset.

When I purchased a second Creality CFS, I had a bad sensor in the unit so I had a replacement sent. When I removed the DOA unit and installed the new one, it’s ID number showed as #3 not #2 like it should show with only two units connected. After doing a fair amount of research I found the way the CFS units connect is a “Serial Network” which does not lend itself to easily change its ID value after one has been established. Even thought the CFS as #3 worked, I wanted to know how to fix the issue. To date, the only way I have been able to 100% reset the ID #s of the CFS is to do the full factory reset from a telnet connection, as the printer menu guide option does not fully reset the printer.
