Tips/tricks/issues for printing with TPU on Ender 3 V3 SE??

Hey all,

ive inheroted my 15 year old son’s v3SE and ive ordered some TPU after nailing down the basics of buolding with PLA. im definitely a hands-on/ trial and error type of learner but before i fire this thing up and jam some floppy filament into my rig, id love to know what NOT to do, is there a necessity to swap out to my othere unused hotend/nozzle to avoid cross contamination of materials? have you found better speeds/settings that work better than default in the slicer? i like to gain as much knowledge before i start anything new, so anything would would be appreciated!

I have printed TPU with succes on my Ender 3 Pro (many years ago)… I had to change 2 things to my printer:

  • Extruder top from the standard plastic on to aluminium…
  • Bowden tube from standard to Capricorn with internal diameter of 1.9mm

You have to slow down the printspeed to approx. 25mm/sec. No need to swap nozzle, when you change material allways set the nozzle to the highest temperature and purge the nozzle manualy till you see the new material clear leaving the nozzle… Have done this many years without getting clogs…
