Tree support and brims

G’day assembled brains trust!
I have a K1 Max, and love it. So fast, such smooth walls.
There is one small but…
When slicing using “Tree Slim” support and adding a brim I’m finding that anything inside the model (I’m printing Phase 2 helmets) there is no brim on the bottom of the tree, but there is on any supports on the outside. As it gets higher there is a tendency for the tree to become unstable and get knocked over. I have tried “Tree strong”, but it uses a bunch more filament and is very difficult to remove. Tree slim with the added assistance of a brim would probably be fine. @Collin is there any reason why this is the case? Is it just a glitch in creating the internal trees or is is designed that way? If it is designed that way can it please be changed?
Cheers
Pete

I don’t know if this will help but play around with “Support Overhang Angle” settings. I find changing this number even a little can make a big difference. You can use any decimal places like 85.01, 85.03 and see if the changes will work…

G’day Jim
Thanks for that, I’ll try it, perhaps if there’s fewer branches due to a different angle the trees may stay in place. Hopefully there will be a fix for the lack of brim on internal trees at some time, as that would probably be a better fix. Until then I’ll see if your suggestion bears fruit.
Cheers
Pete

You probably have an option or settings somewhere that limits your brim on the outside. In Cura or Prusaslicer, you can disable this and setup the brim on both the outside and inside of the model. Try looking for this.
