Trouble slicing horizontal grid bars

Hello, I am having trouble slicing horizontal bars in a grid configuration. Each bar is about 3.3 mm in diameter, all on the plate, with no floating ends. (it is similar to a outdoor cooking grill) When sliced with creality print v5.1.6.10470 on macOS (intel), it will slice the bottom few layers of the grid, leave an empty space for about 1 mm up (where the bar should be continuing to be solid), then infill between all bars in a solid plate for about 1mm, then slice correctly for the remainder. The software warms me of a floating cantilever, but there is none. The same issue happens on several other stl files.

If I reorient the grill on-end (similar to gate bars), the now vertical bars slice correctly, but the horizontal bars continue to slice incorrectly.

I think it started when I imported a K1 max 3mf file (the spaceship on the box, file from the creality website), although I’m not certain of when it started having the issue, . The software switched to a k1 Max build plate. I have since switched it back to K1, deleted the default configurations, and reselected K1. The problem happens on all layer height settings, and I’ve tried various advanced settings to try and resolve. I’ve also downgraded the creality print version (and later re-upgraded). Unable to resolve.

I tried to slice the same files in Orca, with then same result.

Any advice on how to resolve?

Hello @desiretoprint …!

Welcome to the Creality Forum…! Creality

If you right click a selected model on the slicer build plate in Creality Print you will see an option to “repair model”. I won’t say this will fix it but sometimes importing files can cause compatibility issues.

Try to import as an stl becaues the 3mf files have extra info that might confuse your printer especially if it’s exported from another type printer.

Thank you for the warm welcome! Unfortunately, the repair model function dod not fix the model. However, you’ve led me in the right direction. I reproduced similar model geometry in Tinkercad, and it now slices correctly. This confirms an issue with the particular model, rather than the creality software. (solved) Thanks again!
