I bought a used ender 3 pro a while back. There was some bed damage…I think the original user was a novice and put the nozle too close to the magnetic bed. I replaced it with a glass bed, upgraded the bed springs and tried to get it zeroed in, but could never get it to print write…it would always go through the motions but the filament never adheres to the plate. I got a bl touch to see if maybe I was just doing a poor job of leveling the bed, but now that it’s installed, I notice that the print head, after I level it, always prints about 5-10 mm above the bed. I can’t seem to get it to stay close to the bed for prints.
I’ve tried following a few how to’s on resetting the z axis, but it doesn’t seem to stick. I did upgrade the firmware when I installed the BL touch. Also note, whenever I choose to save settings in the menu, I just get a loud beep…not sure if that is normal or not. I’ve tried working with the z offset for the bl touch, but that doesn’t seem to change anything either. When I auto home, it goes to the front left corner, but then moves to the middle of the bed, uses the bl touch once, and then rests at about 10mm above the plate, which is where it will start printing from.
Any ideas?
