I’m trying to use my Ferret for the first time, but I can’t get the software to work. When I start the software, it pops up a message saying the scanner is connected. It then launches a dialog for Performance Testing. It has a circular status indicator that initially starts spinning as expected, but it quickly just freezes. Shortly after that, my whole computer freezes. I have to do a hard reset to get it to come back. I’ve tried letting it sit for a few hours, but it doesn’t get beyond that testing.
I don’t have the most up-to-date computer, but it seems like it should work.
CPU: Intel Core i7 9700K @ 3.60GHz
RAM: 64.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4
Video Card: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB
I have the latest video card drivers, and I’m plugging the scanner directly into a motherboard USB 3.0 slot (I’ve tried different ports, as well.). Is there anything I can do to use this scanner with my current hardware? Could an older version of Creality Scan still work?
p.s. In searching for answers, I’ve seen a few posts saying official support is done through Facebook. Is that true? I don’t have a Facebook account, and I really don’t want one. I’m hoping to get some help here.
