V3 SE uneven corners

Hello, everyone!
I quite like my V3 SE, but I’m having difficulties obtaining good corners, they tend to accumulate plastic and end up looking like seams. I tried different speeds with and w/out acceleration control, and also different accelerantion settings, but the results have been really poor, especially when I need to fit parts together (like box and cover).
I have an old Ender 3 that prints beautifully, but even if I try the same low speeds and settings I dont’t get good results in the V3 SE. To give you an idea, even doubling the design allowances I still can not fit well the prints.
Can you point me to some reference material or video so I can understand better what is going on?
Thank you!

Hello dkostrisch,

Could you upload a couple of photo’s so we can see the problem ?

Cheers.

Hello, Radical_Data!
Yes, I will print and get photos.
Thank you!

Flowrate calibration. I think if you lower the flowrate by 5%-10% will cure this. Retraction distance calibration, I find that the default distance is too small and should be 0.8-1.0mm.

Hello, Bonfireman,
I see. It’s possible.
Present retraction settings are 1.2 mm and 45 mm/s.
I was also using .6 mm walls in a .4 mm nozzle.
I will run experiments with lower flow rates and both .6 and .4 mm walls.
Then I will post the results.
Thank you!

Hello, friends!
Sorry it took me a while, but here are my results:
a) Images 1 to 6 are the same box, printed at 90 mm/s (walls) with .6 and .4 mm walls, and 100%, 96% and 92% flow rates.
b) better surface quality with 96% flow, both .6 and ,4 mm walls, but no difference in the dimensions.
c) Image 7 is the box printed with half speed. Quality unchanged, and dimensional variation a little reduced, from 0.6 to 0.4 mm in the width. But with the protuberant external corners and round internal corners, box and cover will not fit.
d) Image 8 shows contour and some measurements of the box cover.

It is frustrating… I can not see why this design will print OK in the Ender 3 and not OK in the V3 SE.

Do you suggest other settings I should try?

Thank you, as always!

Hi, Bonfireman!
I made the tests you suggested, and posted the results.
I look forward to know your analysis, at your convenience, of course.
Have a nice day!
