Warranty with Root and Creality Helper Script

Hi, I bought the K1C a couple of weeks ago and I was thinking to try the full potencial of Klipper but I’m not sure if I will lose the warranty, I can’t find any information about.

Thanks

I don’t see a definite yes or no.

There is a “might not” and “we don’t promise anything.” wording which is understandable considering the risk involved.

I wondered that myself, but I decided after a few months of printing that I wanted to move forward with alternate slicers. Tons of folks have made the leap to root their K1C, and I haven’t heard of any disasters as long as you don’t start doing anything exotic with your new found authority. After I rooted the K1C, I just run moonraker and fluidd so I can use the Orca slicer.

The scripts are truly painless to install. I’m assuming that you are talking about the github script here: Install Helper Script - Wiki for Creality Helper Script

I suggest you read over all the instructions so you know what is happening first. Also, although I’ve heard conflicting opinions, if I’m going to upgrade the firmware in the printer, I uninstall all the components and do a reset before the firmware update just to be safe.

There’s all kinds of “enhancements” you can install from those scripts, my advice is to keep it simple unless you really know you’ll benefit from one of the many menu features that are presented. There are some interesting sounding things on the menu, but so far I’ve been happy with what I have.

@jimandyen @John_Will Thanks for the answers.

The idea is to add more points to the bed mesh levelling and see if I can improve the first layer and test the accuracy of the bed level probe, I think the probe is the problem.
