Waste Chute constantly plugging up

So far so bad… this printer is driving me nuts with the out of the box issues (mostly all software it seems…)

Has anyone else had the issue with the waste chute plugging/jamming during multicolor prints? I cant seem to leave it unattended for more than a few hours before inevitably its plugged up. sometimes the AI detects it and pauses the print, other times it just slams the print head into a giant lump of filament goop piled high in the waste chute and errors out the entire print.

Any community ideas for some fixes, after all, we certainly cant expect @CREALITY to actually provide a fix for their expensive product it seems…

Had only one time that the waste was blocking in 17 printing days. maybe you can clean and try some siliconen spray to smooth the surface of the waste chute.

Ill give that a try, thanks for the suggestion!

Check the bezel arm isn’t bent. Mine was, which meant the bezel wasn’t lifting into it’s proper position. It’s a physical operation - the extruder head pushes on the arm to lift the bezel, the nozzle purges filament onto the raised bezel, then moves away and back a few times to do a Taylor Swift impersonation…

…yes, Shake It Off…

If the little arm is out of place or bent, this could be the source of your clogs. Also if the pin that it rotates upon is bent, it may not drop as quickly as it should.

However some extreme colour changes may cause high purge volumes which is possibly (I have not confirmed this) more than the bezel can hold without filament backing up into the nozzle. Things like red to white, black to white should be avoided if you can…I’ve worked in a few companies with coloured products and colour cycling is a well known practice to minimise cleaning/down time.

Thanks! Ill look at it when i get home

Any chance you have a picture of what a non bent bezel shape should be?

Better yet, a video…

Also, give the little lever a press to the left; the bezel should lift up into place with no resistance; if it’s stiff or doesn’t drop back down completely freely then the bar may be bent. You could try straightening it yourself though in my experience getting the level of “true” required is impossible without a proper engineering shop…vices, clamps etc.
