Since december 2024 i own a Falcon 2 22W with air assist. till last week everything works fine. but now the air assist is getting weaker. When i start to cut an object, the air assist starts and the pump is working, the LED is green. But how longer the laser is working, the weaker the air flow gets and the the LED goes from green to orange to red. I already cleaned the nozzle which is on the lens. makes no difference. after a sort break, the LED turn on green, and it starts over. This results in some bad cuts. The roller on the left side, where i can control the airflow does work at start up. but when the LED is red, ther is no difference anymore between min and max…Does someone has tips for me?
There is a black cover on top of the air pump.
Try to remove it and see how the filter is doing under it. Be carful! I broke mine when I did this. Forme the black cover stays in place, but just by gravity.
I had my filter full of dust and had to wash it - make sure it is completely dry before putting it back if you wash it as I’m not sure what moisture will do to the laser.
Thanks for your answer. The filter cover came of, but same as yours it broke…The filter did look dirty. I cleaned it. But also openend up the side covers where the air valves are. Here i also found some dust. I cleaned it all and mounted it back. End of the week i will try a new cut, because i have to remodel my setup, so the airpump is out of the laser smoke range. ill let you know
Sorry for the delay, but i had to try for some longer time. And had a lot other stuff to do…But im still not satisfiyed with the air flow. I now set the Creality pump a side and mounted my other pump of an other laser and that works fine. I don’t know what to do with the Creality pump.
The filter holder for the air assist pump is designed to break. I designed a new holder for a standard HEPA filter that is giving fresh clean air to the laser head. It also increases the airflow.
