New guy here!! I have recently purchased a ender 3 and im not sure what model I have. Box says ender-3-B on the printer it says ver 1.1.2 and on the motherboard it says 4.2.2
Problem I’m running into is that i wanted to add a cr touch then updated the Firmware with what i thought was the correct firmware but seems like i have the wrong firmware it says “no tf card” sometimes and then i try to go to “print from tf” and nothing will load.
Not sure about firmware and all but you have one of the first Ender 3 models from 2018. You can tell by the cooling fan in the front which they later changed to face underneath so debris wouldn’t get caught in there.
Ender-3-B
Also the “B” at the end might mean it has a magnetic build plate, improved extruder and frame, etc.
You will need to check the control board part number. If it is 4.2.2.0 this is the later board fitted to the Ender 3, if it is 1.1.3 or 1.1.5 then it is an old 8bit board . You have to install the correct firmware for the board installed in you printer, I am not sure what firmware Creality is listing on the website. I updated my old ender 3 with a BTT e3v3 32bit board and compiled my own firmware.
From the image of the printer, it is a standard Ender 3, The V2 has a wider rail that the bed moves on and as stated above , the original ender 3 has the control board cooling fan mounted on the top of the case. The V2 fan is mounted under the printer.
