I am using this printer for about 6 months now. Last month no print works. I am using cura as a slicer and tried different settings, switched out nozzles and tried pla and petg all with same poor result. Petg doesn’t mess as bad as pla in the pic. But there is bo solid print. What can I change?
What does your first layer look like? Is it sticking to the bed at all or only marginally? Have you cleaned the bed with dishwasher liquid and water, dry it then wipe it with IPA? I suspect adjusting the Z-offset will be key to getting this printing right. Have you ever tried gluestick? Do you autocalibrate every print, I do not do this, once I find the correct Z-offset I leave the settings be, the autocalibrate resets all the hardwork of dialling in the Z-offset. Yes it is touted as autolevelling, it mostly is, but a little tweak of the Z-offset is most always needed.
First couple of layers are fine. And is in really good shape. I even tried special 3D printing glue spray can.
Got a picture of the first layers? You can see how well they are going down. Not tried glue spray, I use a cheap Tesco (supermarket) Home Office glue stick, it isn’t sticky but gives a grippy surface for 10’s of prints. Tend to use it for the big prints overnight. A clean PEI sheet is perfectly good once you get the Z-offset right.
I plugged it out of the mess so it is not complete. I did the x offset with a sheet of paper that has mild resistance when moved.
Z offset with paper? Why? The corner sensor and CR touch should set this. Use the autolevel for the initial setting, it is not far off correct. After that disable the calibrate for each print. Print something like a benchy with a skirt of 3-5 wide, you can adjust the z offset whilst it is printing the skirt and you should get a perfect first layer. Takes a couple of tries to get it right.
