Wifi is broken

Hi,

I have a K1C which is borderline impossible to use via wifi. The wifi network is fine, I have many other devices that use it with no issue.

The symptoms are that when the device was new it worked reliably, then over time it occasionally fails to get on the wifi network with rebooted and this seems to get more and more common over time until it becomes effectively unusable.

I reported this to Creality support and to their credit they sent me a new mainboard, which I installed in a very stressful operation since the connectors on the mainboard are all delicate and absolutely buried in glue. This seemed to fix it and I thought everything was great, but now a few months later (I don’t use the printer a lot) its showing the same symptoms as the first one.

I power it on - it fails to join the network. I try forgetting the network and re-adding and most the time it claims there’s a password error (there is not). The delay before it claims there’s a password error varies - sometimes it’s pretty instant, other times it can take 30 seconds or more. It then fails to get an IP address via DHCP.

Other times, if it does join the network it will just sit there being very poorly connected. I can leave a ping running and it will drop 10s or hundreds of packets then reply to a couple, etc.

Anyone have any ideas, please? Can I really have got 2 defective mainboards in a row? Seems odd that they start off pretty reliable and get worse.

Thanks

Hi, re your WiFi issue I experienced the same problem yesterday after the latest v6.2 update. Sounds coincidental? Tried resetting to default but will not accept my password-very annoying. Would love some results, purchased the K1C last September and have delighted with the results. WiFi is fine everywhere else. Regards.

Hi, I have recently experienced the same issue following latest update to v6, and now v7. Have checked everything from modem to the printer ans all Ok except the K1C receiving WiFi command to send from the printer. Since the updates, a new pop-up window appears showing the K1C IP address etc., and ready to print but shows K1C at IDLE will not budge from there??
