Hello everyone,
I have a Creality K1, and I’ve been having a recurring problem: after every print, the extruder makes a “ticking” noise when I try to start a new print. Filament stops flowing, and I can’t push it forward or retract it.
I opened the extruder several times to clean and repair it. I recently checked the gear assembly and the spring that presses the idler against the filament. Everything looks fine (see photos), but the issue still happens.
Some people suggest upgrading or modifying the extruder gear and spring to improve grip and prevent slipping. Do you think doing this would actually solve my problem and make the printer more reliable? If this is a good idea, why didn’t Creality include it from the start?
Thanks for any advice!
