So I have sent in a request to Creality support but no response other than the automated one so far.
I went to print today and the printer started fine then started making a very loud grinding noise. I came upstairs and found the print head in the very front left side of the enclosure. I looked at the display and there were a series of errors:
CM2577
Y axis homing abnormality
CM2789
Abnormal Resistance in the X-Axis movement direction, motor released. Fix issue and restart.
CX2573
X-Axis homing abnormality

I read on this forum to look for potential looses screws or other obstructions. This is what I found in the top right side of the enclosure.
Any advice? I did look to see if I could figure out how to get that part out but I can’t see a way to disassemble that much of the frame and even if I did, i would be afraid that getting it back together without causing a ton of other issues would be next to impossible.
Does anyone know if this can be done or should this be a Creality maintenance return?
Thanks
You seem to have a broken bearing or corner roll assembly.
Creallity customer service will be the only to answer you the question. I hope you raised a case already.
Yes, the response was
The error may be caused by the displacement of the idler wheel.
Please remove the idler wheel to check whether the idler wheel hole has been deformed and whether the surrounding parts are normal and intact.
If the parts around the idler wheel are also damaged, please provide pictures or videos so that we can make a better judgment and reissue them.
So i gotta figure out how to remove that assembly. I asked if they had instructions on best way to remove it but no response. I guess i am digging into this blind at this point.
I did and they asked me to fix it at home… the procedure included using a hammer and wood block to knock the side of the printer off as well as several other steps that i felt very uncomfortable doing at home… i pressed and pressed and now they have agreed to let me ship it back at my expense and they will send me a new one. So at least that is good.
So after several back and forths with Creality via email and discord i returned my printer for a replacement one to be shipped immediately. That was last week… i will update here when it arrives.
The printer arrived and I am running a few test prints. But everything looks good so far.
