hello. i recently had an x-axis stepper motor lock up on me. i cant seem to find a replacement anywhere! i can find the y-axis motor and bracket assemblies all day, but no x-axis assemblies. my question is: are they the same motor? could i buy the y-axis assembly and just pull the stepper from it to put into my current x-axis bracket?
Hello, if the engine is jammed, then the bearing is out of order, it can be replaced with the only thing that can cause problems is the pulley removal, it usually sits very well on the shaft, but you can try to warm it up and remove it with the help of the extractor. Disassemble the motor and see the bearing markings and replace. I do not have a K2 printer, but all stepper motors are arranged about the same. K2 has feedback, a board on the back of the engine as far as I know.
Due to a failed bearing, the rotor is magnetized to the stator and wedges because of this.
