Z-offset K1c

Hi all
After three years of thrashing about in the deep end with two “bed slingers” I’ve invested in a K1c. I spent many hours tweaking the “z-offset” on the old machines but find virtually no mention of it on the forums etc for the K1c. Does the different bed style make z-offset unnecessary or have I missed a bit on the menu somewhere? I have no problems with adhesion and had some excellent prints. Just curious in case I get problems in the future. On a different subject. Has anyone else stripped the teeth from the extruder gear?
Cheers.
Graham

Hi Graham. The Z offset is calculated during the calibration procedure i.e bed leveling. and I believe setting the Z limit, I have found that I need to adjust the Z offset for different types if filaments. this is not possible with the standard K1 c display . You can set the Z offset in Creality print in the priter setup option but this is cumbersome. I have rooted my K1c and installed moonraker and fluidd, this allows me to change the Z offset on the fly usually i have to change the value by .005 for PETG and PLA.

Hi Bill
Thanks for your reply. I guessed it was an automatic process. I will worry about really fine tuning in the future. Apart from the unfortunate gear stripping I have found the results from this printer far exceed my old ones.
Many thanks
Graham
