Hi All,
Bought a used Creality Ender V3 SE. Put it together and turned it on. Like quite a few other people I have seen online, my unit starts up and goes to the initialization screen. When i choose a language (English), it moves the print head to the left, then centers it on the platform, does the z-calibration (purple light), and then…completely resets.
I am aware that there are a number of issues that can cause this. I’ve already:
- confirmed my voltage setting is correct (230V - in Europe).
- Checked the power transformer is giving out 24V to the main board (so the person who used the unit before me didn’t burn the supply by mistake).
- taken off the bottom board, and checked all connections. No burned components, or loose wires.
- Flashed the screen firmware.
- Tried to flash the motherboard firmware (this failed). Yes, my card is 8Gb, fat32-4096 block size.
I have read on other forms that shorts between the different boards and frame can also cause this - but I don’t know what test points to use to even confirm such a thing. Is there anything else I can try?
