It’s funny because support has been good at responding to me, but their responses are insulting. It’s basic stuff like “did you check the extruder isn’t clogged” or “is the CFS plugged in all the way?”
Like yes I’ve checked all of this stuff. I’ve disassembled the extruder on one occasion for an actual clog. Super easy to service, thankfully. So it seems like the hardware here is good, like @Kristapsa said, but the software is what’s really the problem.
And then, once I’ve confirmed the basics with support, they went to the start of their script and started running through the same suggestions. Like yes, please, I’ve recorded a video and shared with them checking these things, even. I don’t know if it’s language barrier problems or what, but having support that’s actively useless almost seems worse than support that just doesn’t respond.
Unfortunately I am outside my return window for this printer so I am stuck trying to debug it.
Not reassuring there has been no movement on firmware updates since 1/4.
I can imagine “I need help; the printer does not pass the belt tension test”. Response: “Are you sure the printer is plugged in”? lol
Where I used to work, before GE moved everything overseas, we had to made up instrument knowledge lists like that for the first line of customer support. It was more or less a trouble-shooting chart (what you call those yes/no trees?). This was to save us time with the customer on the phone so we could concentrate on our work. The customer always had to be forwarded to us anyway. We love digital, but we live in an analog world. Troubles are not always True/False or black and white.
I have not had a response from Creality since before last Friday. The guys on this forum have gotten me working with a partially crippled printer.
I am frustrated with the K2 Plus right now, but with Bambu seemingly locking their printers down, and killing their hobby and small print shop market, there really isn’t really anywhere else to go for and enclosed printed, especially an enclose LARGE printer; maybe the $$$ commercial printers; I dunno.
Working on a 6 hour print, two hours in to it, out of the blue Error “CM2784”. More filament wasted! I don’t think I have enough of that color left to start again.
As I basically print enclosures for electronics projects and the odd trinket for fun, my V3SE does all I really need right now. I don’t presently require a greater choice of filament.
But, if my requirements do change then after talking with Bonfireman regards his Qidi and the others available , that brand is the one I would be looking to purchase without doubt.
Hey, I am fairly certain that CM2784 error is due to part warping. I typically know how to prevent that when using PLA on my X1C, and that is to turn the aux fan off. Besides bed cleaning, and a brim, what is the best way to prevent warping on the K2?
I have a Q1Pro and an Xplus3 they are a little noisy though when all the fans are at full blast. I only print mono anyway so the AMS/CMS/MMS isn’t on my shopping list.
Printing with a brim and if I am printing something with a long print time I will use glues stick just to be certain. Print with the lid off and the printer door open, aux fans on for me.
Chinese New Year, not a good time to try and contact CS. 7 printers all from various Chinese manufacturers, best hope nothing breaks (but I can fix them all by now anyway) Guessing Aliexpress deliveries might take a little longer.
I have floor model Ender 3 V3 and a refurbished Ender 3 V3 plus both purchased from a Creality eBay store. Both have operating amazing after relocating the spool to the top immediately after the first few print fails from the crap factory spool hack design. I do have an occasional fluke blob encapsulating the head that ruins the nozzle wires when removing. The camera AI is pathetic and stops the print for no reason that is apparent but never catches the catastrophic failures or golf ball size blobs building. I print Pla, Petg and tpu straight to a bare build plate. No glue sticks or special adhesion products. Creality print 5 works okish most of the time but appears to have gremlins in the programming that does crazy self adjusting and purging even if no update is performed. I even went back to cura ultimaker for a short time cuz I couldn’t get my Ender 3 S1 to complete a print on Creality slicer 5 early on. Still can’t get any thumbnail info to show up on the screen unless I use Cura to slice for it. My belief is that they are trying to implement too many mass changes or upgrades to all of the Creality ecosystem at one time causing mass chaos in the machine and slicing performance. Then throw in filament products changes from a new product line that seems to be created every few months. Nothing is remotely consistent. My go too for printing problems is all else fails slow the speed way down and see how the printing goes cuz if it can’t print good at a slow speed it will never print at hyper speeds. Then work my speeds back up as I adjust temps to keep the flow rate consistent and the print looking somewhat clean.
Hmmm…I’m looking for a printer that does NOT require me to use USB and works well over WiFi. I am literally almost ready to pull the trigger on a K2 but now having second thoughts. How strong is your WiFi Network? Have you tried using an Ethernet connection vs WiFi? I had some WiFi issues with network printing with my original Ankermake M5 until I moved the wireless access point closer to the printer. Unfortunately, the Ankermake does NOT have an Ethernet (RJ45) connection. I’m looking for that option in my next printer due to the WiFi issues. With the Ankermake WiFi, it’s not uncommon to have to re-register the printer after a power cycle to get it to connect on WiFi. My hope is that a hardwired connection will remove that nuisance.
Wow. I’m glad I found this forum. I started my 3D Print experience with the AnkerMake M5 but I want something that will handle “hotter” (engineering) filaments. I am also intrigued with the idea of color switching. I have a Creality drier that I like and at first blush the engineering seems attractive but my first “clue” was in trying out the Creality Print (CP) software. Like many in the creative world, I’m using a Mac. In experimenting with the slicer I find that most of the calibration models (i.e. Temp Tower) Built into CP. It won’t even slice it’s own built in models! To add insult to injury it then tells me that the Windows version can fix the model but the Mac software can’t. FIRST, why in the world would you deliberatey build in a model that is broken? (has 18 non-manifold edges). SECOND, why would they publish the Mac version with this glaring non-parity with the Windows version. I’m now going to take a look a the Bambu offering again. I had decided against that in favor of the K2 based upon some You Tube vids but this forum has warned me off the K2 for the moment.
