Does anyone have anything good to say about the K2 with CFS?

Hey is it still working fine? I got mine and loving it my only concern is people commenting with problems I have yet to see any my only problem so far is during the print the extruder plugged. And it paused it then I hit re try 3 times it un cloged and started the print were it left off no failed yet

I had a lot of issues with mine when I first got it, and they seem to mostly have subsided. I had some issues with filament with the CFS enabled but eventually I realized the sensors were bad on my CFS and Creality finally sent me the replacement hub a few months back and it’s good now.

I still haven’t tested much PETG, but I’ve probably done 100+ hours of PLA with the K2 Plus without the CFS. It’s great with PLA. Absolutely no tweaking required and 0.16mm structural prints come out with almost indistinguishable layer lines.

Sorry for the very late reply. I bought a K2 Plus Combo during March and absolutely love it! A few points to be aware of if you haven’t made your purchase yet, or for anyone else looking to purchase one.

  • The CFS cable to the printer, or perhaps the connector in the printer, can cause connection problems. Mine worked perfectly until I accidentally bumped into the plugged in cable. Slowly moving the cable while plugged in solved the problem and it hasn’t recurred (yet). I’ll take the time to check if it is possibly broken solder at a later date.
  • The connectors used to hold the tubes that guide the filament from the cfs to the buffer, from the buffer to the machine, and from the external filament to the machine, can be a bit difficult to manage, especially if you use them single handed. I made the mistake of trying to pull the tube out of one without pressing in the end of the connector (which releases the tube), and managed to damage one. Fortunately the machine does come with 1 spare, and after breaking one I’m not making the same mistake again!
  • When changing between colors, you may end up with more waste material than is actually printed into your print. Something to keep an eye on.

Other than those little issues, the printer has been an absolute dream to use.

I’ve had my K2 plus for about a month now with two CFS units hooked up. I’ve had little to no issues with it aside from the CFS units getting jammed on occasion with the spring tension on the four-way spit being too much there’s a couple of fixes for it on YouTube. Other than that great printer good speed good quality. If you’re going to get into bigger printers like this, especially a new series then there’s bound to be some growing pains, but overall great printer, and worth the money in my opinion.

I had that problem with PETG. Fixed with setting changes:

Speed of the first cooling move: 2.2 → 20
Speed of the last cooling move: 3.4 → 10
Number of cooling moves: 4 → 6

I haven’t had clumps of PETG clogging the nozzle since making those changes. That said, I also reduced the print temperature, because after replacing the nozzle hardware and the main board, it no longer was (as best I could tell) running 20 to 30 degrees cooler than it said it was. :joy: So there were a lot of variables for me, and I can’t say for sure whether that will actually help you.

I have had my K2 Pro Combo for only 3 days and I can honestly say this machine is an absolute BEAST!!!

I love it to bits. Upgraded from Ender-3 V3 SE that I still have.

Straight out of the box has performed beautifully.

This was my first upgrade from the Ender3 series. From initial setup to first print it would be perfection compared to what I was use to lol.

The K2P has had a few little quirks to iron out but overall has been a very solid printer. First upgrade was the graphite bed and once leveled it is never more than .018 at any temp. Second upgrade was the hotend, this has better heat-break cooling.

I did have to replace the pressure sensor the nozzle mounts to as it had a defect that was slowly getting worse the more the printer was used. But with over 2000 hours of use I really won’t complain about $15 parts. As for the CFS units that a lot of complaints are about, mostly user error. Don’t leave filament sit in the CFS for weeks then wonder why it breaks and jams the unit. Had 4 units connected to the K2 and eventually moved 3 to other printer’s since I would very rarely print with more than 4 colors and swapping filament is a breeze.

Other than that, any other repairs I had to do was just maintenance or from user error.

As another has said, I may be a little bias towards Creality products as I run 5-K1 Max and now 2-K2 Plus units. Plus still use the Ender3 V3 Plus, Ender3 V3 KE bed slingers, a custom built 450x450x600 XY (mostly Creality parts), and 1 Non Creality AD5X which literally will sit inside a K2 Plus.

Second reply on this thread. Now coming up on a year of printing on and off. Over 800 hours on the printer. Various relatively minor issues. Power/sensor board for the hot end had the pins break. Creality replaced under warrantee and I rebuild the original which is still working surprisingly. Have been testing out a number of other filament mfgs, the worst so far was Sunlu easy ABS. Most of my printing is with ABS and easy abs is very finicky and not like ABS much at all. I did get it to print but even at half price the hassles were not worth the time lost. No issues with other Sunlu or other mfg filaments to date. A fair bit of operator error which the K2 has shouldered. Replaced the extruder shell as the PTFE tube fitting is a design flaw and I am still working on something better. The CFS recently pack in and would not feed with over retracts and loads of FR2836 (and others). Days of debugging and only being able to print from the external spool had me running the CFS with the combiner out. Seem there was a bad batch of optical filament sensors that was used in the CFS and a chat with Creality with video showing no filament in the sensor but it detecting it has a new combiner on its way to me. Truly fantastic customer service. I have done some board level sensor removal and bypassing had have a 2 way combiner for now and some new optos inbound. A word to the wise, U4 is for slot A1, I took out U1 and it broke hence a 2 slot not a three slot lol. We shall see if I can rebuild a 10 dollar board for several thousand in labour (I am not cheap!) and $15 in parts. After nearly a Year I would still recommend the K2 Plus. Solid printer, can be finicky but support is excellent! Update on the rebuild. Both channels with the Omron optical sensors failed BUT failed off so I did not have to hot wire them so I was back to a two slot. I did buy a new sensor board for $20 and it arrived before the warranty replacement. Put it in and all is working fine. Still would recommend.

Looks like how my K2 Pro arrived. Fedex apparently likes to play dice with heavy things.

I bought a Creality K2 Combo from Creality Singapore, and so far everything has been working flawlessly :+1:
What really stood out to me was the after-sales support — the staff were very responsive and patiently answered all my questions. Overall, a very smooth experience and definitely reassuring for a big purchase like this.

Not many announce positive feedback, they only post their negative experiences 99.9% of the time.

I have had great experience with creality support all 3 times I had to use them last year. They were responsive, helpful, and sent me the parts I needed right away.

Biggest headache I’ve ever had with a 3d printer. And the support feedback is non existent
