Dual 5015 setup , one fan shorted

My left fan shorted as solder points came loose and brought +&- to short in the fan .
changed the fan but now both my fans go 100% the same moment i power on my printer and does not react to anything and 100% all the time
flashed new firmware - same …

so do i need new mobo - or could i now go for klipper and somehow control the speed thru klipper ?
any chance BTT upgrade card could be a thing ?

i could use this chance to upgrade instead of just wasting money on new same mobo - everything else works .

what can i do ?

Hello Gekko,

Due to the fan wires getting shorted together I would imagine that it has done in the driver circuitry on the mother board.

So it looks like a motherboard is needed.

Shorting fans probably makes no difference to the fans, almost nothing to break on those so yes as radical_data says probably blown something on the motherboard. Can be had quite cheap on Aliexpress. £22

Yepp just ordered from Ali a new mobo… gonna practice soldering skills on this board and maybe it will work again , if not I have som spare parts :blush:
