ender3 v3 plus burnt pin on printer head connection

I got my ender3 v3 plus a little over a year ago and have been dealing with intermittant levelling sensor errors preventing prints from starting since the first couple weeks of ownership. I recently noticed what appears to be a burnt pin when disconnecting the print head cable during one of these issues to re-seat it which sometimes helps to clear the issue.

The cable connector female pin in question appears to be protruding out the bottom of the connector (I can see the metal tip of the pin through the white plastic connector bottom) while the corresponding male pin on the connector on the print head looks to be darker than others and the plastic at the base of the pin appears to be blackened.

Do I have any options to get this issue resolved or am I hosed? I’m hoping the faulty connection has been the source of the sensor errors that have been causing so many headaches over the past year. Wishing I would have reached out to support the first time it happened, live and learn I guess - this is our first 3d printer.

My Ender 3 V3 did the same thing and I had to replace the cable that connects to the print head. After that, I just plugged it into that plug again and it worked fine. Sounds like a common thing with the V3/V3 Plus.

Thank you, I was able to find the cable on aliexpress. Fingers-crossed this is all it takes to be back up and running.

Oh nice! I had to go through support but thankfully it was still under warranty. I really hope it works well for you.

Update.

Received the new cable from aliexpress and replaced it. First handful of prints went fine working through some calibration for a new filament and a small test print.

Now, switched filaments and the errors have returned. Sometimes it lets me simply ‘Resume’ the print after error, other times I have to fiddle with it.

Observed condition: When starting a print it homes, gets to x-y centre roughly an inch above the build plate and tries to find z 0. It never goes down and touches the build plate, just goes down a bit then up higher than start height a handful of times and display the error.

Error:

key:2529,Leveling sensor chipp abnormality, sensor damage or environmental impact.

If anyone has any thoughts on what I can try next, it would be much appreciated.
