Filament isn’t extruding after upgrading hot end

Hey all, I just upgraded my hot end yesterday and immediately couldn’t print. One video attached is of attempting to print, the other is trying to extrude. And I’m aware my nozzle is high, that’s just so you can see it. Any ideas?

upgraded hotend to what please?

The creality upgraded ceramic heating block with quick swap nozzle.

So its an Ender 3 V3 SE with the ceramic hotend? Does this still have the short piece of PTFE tubing? Is that damaged? Is there anything caught up in the extruder? Is it heating? Check the connections.

Yes, it’s a V3 Se with the ceramic upgrade and I did install the tubing, hopefully correctly. It seems like the filament is making it through the tubing and extruder just fine, and then getting stuck in the nozzle itself. I believe the connections are fine as the tip is heating correctly. In the video in which I attempted extruding, I had the heat all the way up to 300°, and as you can see there was still nothing coming out. The only other thing I have to add, is that it smells like burning plastic. So I’m wondering if I just got a bad nozzle and filament is just burning inside it? I’m very new to this and don’t even know if that’s possible

With the nozzle hot and the lever depressed you should be able to push down on the filament to get some form of extrusion. Wondering if you just have a clogged nozzle. Can you see the extruder working, the little wheel on the top turning? Do you hear clicking from the extruder?

I’m not getting anything when I push the lever and down on the filament. The wheel is turning like you said, but I do not hear any clicking. Is that good or bad?

Well this is interesting. I pulled out the filament and saw something similar to this. I did one test print which was fine. I tried a second, and it once again stopped extruding and I pulled this out. What would cause it to keep kinking like this?

Kinking I think retraction is too high but is it extruding at all?

That’s what’s weird. It did for the one test print, and then kinked. Didn’t extrude at all on the second

Hi
Just done this myself with no issues.
Did you fit the PTFE tube for the SE? there is another for the KE but it is 6mm longer.
22mm for the SE
28mm for the KE
Just a thought as a longer tube could cause the issue once clamped up.

Strangely enough, mine only came with the smaller tube. But I’m wondering if the source of the problem is that the filament catches on the metal tube that the PTFE tube slides over. Unfortunately I now have a bigger issue, which is that the tube was crushed out of shape when I took things apart and then tried reassembling them.
