I just bought a Ferret Pro Scanner and can’t connect to my iPhone 13Pro. Reason is that a WIFI password has to be set (seems this fact is rather new). Setting the PW works only with Firmware 1.32. When trying to update to 1,32 from the resources page, I get the message wrong firmware. The firmware I tried is listed with out the “Pro”, but I can’t find a dedicated Ferret Pro Firmware 1.32. Any suggestions?
I ran into the same issue this week. My Ferret Pro scanner was working great for the last several weeks and now I can’t use it. I just replied to a similar thread (link below). I’ll be posting any updates on that thread. Maybe we can all post our findings there so they’re all in one place.
Hi 3Djax, I finally could help myself. My problem was twofold:
I not knew, that my PC (without WLAN) cannot see the wireless bridge, just the scanner itself as I connected first via USB for testing. So the only update I saw, is for the scanner and then I tried to update the scanner with the bridge update, whcih of course not worked.
I then connected the Ferret with my MS surface tablet and as it has default WLAN it could see both, the wireless bridge and also the scanner. Running CrealityScan on the tablet showed me the Password entry function and then things went well. I could connect to the iPhone. I read that to make the password issue disappear need min. 1.32 on the w-bridge and 1,22 on the scanner.
The scanner was delivered with 1.23 and I accidentially when messing around withe updates, I downgraded to 1.22, which I read is not big issue. Any hint where I can get 1.23 back.
Klaus, Here is a link to where Creality has all the latest versions of their software and firmware but unfortunately it looks like the latest version of the scanner firmware is 1.2.2.
I fixed the problem without any help from the support department. Let me know if this simple fix works for anyone else on Mac or PC.
My Mac is always connected to the Internet through a LAN connection. Following the instructions for setting a password for the wireless bridge, I turned on the WLAN, Wi-Fi, and connected my Mac to the ferret wireless bridge. However, the Mac CrealityScan software pop up for adding a wireless bridge password still never showed up and I have been working for six days to figure it out. What I finally discovered is that even though I was connected to the wireless bridge Wi-Fi from my Mac, I needed to unplug the LAN cable for the set password popup to appear. A very simple solution that is not documented in any CrealityScan guides. After unplugging the LAN cable, reset password pop-up was displayed immediately in the Mac software and under Settings > Device Management both the scanner and the wireless bridge appeared and allowed me to update the firmware on both. I am now able to scan again on my iPhone. The requirement to unplug the cable may be obvious to everyone else but I assume that a connection over Wi-Fi meant you are now connected over Wi-Fi. I hope this can help both the Mac users and the PC users. Let us know here by posting a reply on the form. Good luck everyone.
