Is the KE ceramic hot end compatible with the SE?

Specifically trying to understand if the ceramic hot end for the ender 3 V3 KE is compatible with the SE model or not. Not referring to the full hot end upgrade kit…just the heating head with the all metal heat break and the standard hardened ss nozzle.

Has anyone tried this ?

I am looking to make the high temp upgrade without having to go with the full hot end kit with the unicorn nozzle. I want the flexibility of swapping out different nozzle types if needed.

(Will be moving to klipper via Raspberry pi 3b to enable the high temperature setup).

Thanks!

Hi
I went with the “Unicorn” hotend setup. Just be aware the hotend cooling fan on the SE is a bit rubbish and may cause heat creep which in turn MAY cause clogging.
I fitted a Noctua 40X20 fan and have had no issues.

Hi Kevin

Thanks for the reply.

Looks like all roads are pointing to the full upgrade option with the unicorn hot end, which is unfortunate.

Can you switch out just the nozzles with the unicorn nozzles ?

Thanks.

Hi
As far as I can see the Unicorn nozzles are too long, would need to go for the complete kit.
Easy to fit though, just be aware to use 5mm longer screws to attach the hotend, as the standard ones are really too short to tighten properly.
Also ensure you use the correct PTFE tube.
