I've had an Ender 3v3 since January, now I got problems

My Ender 3v3 SE has worked perfect out of the box since January. So that was all good.

Except that now I’ve hit a problem with the machine no longer auto-leveling. I replaced the print plate recently and since then the machine has refused to auto-level.

I’ve checked and rechecked all the wiring connections and now I’m at a loss as to what to do next.

When I active the auto-leveling the machine does the heating and extrusion test [both fine]… then ties to level. It doesn’t extend the probe, and doesn’t come with 2cm of the bed surface before pulling back up and trying again.

After several attempts in centres and quits out of the leveling.

What am I doing wrong?

This is the bit I am looking at. Is the probe connection in the printhead properly seated? Is it shining purple? Can you manually pull down the probe and then try levelling?
