Jagged edges to part of the finished print

Hi - Anyone know why this is happening? Prints are 40mm high and otherwise print fine -

Image shows Sketchup file and photo of actual print - no hints from the construction process i removed a lyer to see 'inside the model in case something was causing it - but its clean - and it isnt on all edges as you can see from the photo.

Suggestions would be welcome to resolve.

Thanks for looking.

The image suggests that the filament protrusion at the print’s edge only appeared on the top layer; this is a typical symptom of ‘Z-wobble’ or ‘Z-banding’. The most likely cause is a Z-axis mechanical issue. With the printer turned off, manually and slowly move the X-axis gantry up and down through the height range of the print. Feel for any binding, sticking, or increased resistance. Listen for any unusual noises. Pay close attention to the movement of the lead screw(s) and the gantry on its wheels/rails.

Hi Jimmy-

Many thanks for taking the time to post up a possible solution.

I will check out what you say and report back asap.

Thank you -

T H A N K Y O U - for your suggestion - the gantry was indeed out of alignment due to poorly positioned screw thingy - as per image -

When I saw the issue first hand on the large prints, the printer was making weird noises - on the smaller test print, i heard a similar but not so rough noise too - sadly I missed cpaturing it on video -
Anyhows - I will print a large one today to confirm but im pretty sure you have resolved this issue for me - and i am very grateful.

I will close this off later once the full prints have printed without issue.

Well, ‘Z’ wobble is still present - if not quite as much - strange that it manifested on a lower plane though?. I thought it was when the gantry reaches a certain heightand due to the misaligning of the gantry supports that it starts to wobble -
I will atttempt a realignment - my issue is it takes a lot to print - I may be able to rescue this part but I reall want to eradicate this issue.
