So… I see/read the upgrade kit (printer components) is around 50-55 USD and the CFS is 300-330. Does anyone know for sure they’ll be offering both, together?
I ask because I am seeing some supply issues with CFS units. I’m sure it is probably related to demand caused by the upgrade announcement. (Ship dates are now in mid-February.)
From a Creality standpoint, would a $350 combo (kit and CFS) be better for them? That price is just a couple of dollars shy of buying separately but it guarantees shipping compatibility and unit matching. And if they announce it now, sooner or later, it might slow demand for the CFS and allow supply to catch up.
Otherwise I might just go ahead and order the CFS now. Just like everyone else.
I’ve been wondering whether to order the cfs now too but is it absolutely certain it’s the exact same unit as for the K2 and the kit contains everything that is needed for the conversion.
Would be nice if Creality would ship a K1 MAX Combo bundle like with the machine already configured to use a supplied CFS (as for the K2 Plus). I’m considering purchasing the MAX but would prefer a combo version already configured with compatible extruder etc. This could be a real rival for the Bambu Labs P1S combo if they also priced it a little more competitively.
Yeah look at the root domain. Creality would likely make it a subdomain like I belive the official site is. I.e.
store.creality.com store being the sub domain and creality.com being the root. Basically anything with .creality.com on the very end would presumably be their official site
I’ve been considering this upgrade for my K1 Max. Why do the installation videos show running the feed tube over the top of the rear wall rather than through the original hole in the back, or even a new hole? You wouldn’t be able to put the top on if you run it that way.
My other question is whether you’d be able to run without the CFS after the modification? Does it only show the CFS when it’s plugged in maybe, and otherwise just assumes there’s a single roll?
I’ve been watching the US store, checking the link several times a day for the past week or so, and it’s never said anything but “sold out”. The listing did change to “pre-order” at some point, so maybe it was available briefly between the times I checked.
The new description in the link answers my earlier questions. I really hate that they don’t want you to route the feed tube the same way it was all along so the top could stay in place. I’m sure some sort of raised frame for the top could be made though I’d probably try it with the normal routing to see if it really causes a problem first.
Yeah, it’s up in the US store but as soon as you try to add it to your cart, a message comes up about inadequate stock. Creality is “threatening” some big announcements on April 9th. I guess we’ll see.
Check that all the parts are really included before starting the conversion.
I started full of joy only to realize that part “B” was missing for my printer and I received part “A” twice.
Now I’ve been writing to support since Saturday and am supposed to contact them again in 2 to 3 days to get a tracking number because my spare part was “requested” by the supporter, whatever that means.
Now the printer is standing around half rebuilt and I can’t do anything… now I have to wait
Thanks for the warning. My kit is supposed to be here next Tuesday. I’ll definitely check. Also, maybe someone who ordered the kit for one of the other K1 models has a B you could use.
Being wary of upgrades, I’m probably going to hold off on doing mine for a while until more people try it. The printer works so well now that I’m afraid of changing that. I’ll also plan on making a riser for the lid, since I want to retain the lid.
Not encouraging about the lack of customer service. Seems like a lot of that going around these days. My kit showed up a couple days ago, and the first thing I did was check for an A and a B. I’m going to resist installing it for a while to see how the upgrade goes for this batch of kits. My K1 Max has just been perfect, and I don’t want to mess that up.
