K2 Hinge unglued during shipping

Really bad the lying send it back.

Well, I would if they would issue me an RMA, but they can’t even do that, LOL. So I got my CC involved. Maybe this will put a fire under their @$$. I just want this fixed and the nozzle I purchased shipped!

Creality hope you are reading this!

I will say this for AnyCubic: I didn’t have issues with my last printer from them until a year later. I was able to resolve that without parts, too. They did help point me in the right direction. However, once this gets all cleared up with Creality I am going with a Bambu Labs X1C which I should have done in the first place. 2 things pushed me to the K2, the availability of the X1C at the time of purchase and the whole firmware/software debacle with Bambu Labs.

Hi there
I just purchased a K2 and whilst I am very happy with its output my door just came apart exactly as per your photo. What I did is glue it back on using a two part epoxy BUT as a test I drilled two approx 2mm holes in the aluminium hinge so that the glue had more of a grip. The glue actually came through the hole and formed like a button on top. Also I sanded off the paint and went back to bare metal. I could see on my unit how the paint line clearly moved off the glue that held fast to the glass. Because the glue was still attached to the glass I could reposition it back in the same spot. Cleaned all surfaced up with alcohol before re glue.
Fingers crossed that she holds.

Hello,

I don’t have a door/hinge problem myself, but if I did, I would probably try the glue used for attaching a rear view mirror to the windscreen.
It sticks much stronger than ***t to a blanket !

Cheers.

For interest I asked JB Weld for a recommendation on what they thought was the most appropriate product from their range and they recommended MinuteWeld as it ā€œIt is suitable for glass as well as metal and has a high strength.ā€

Advice number one.

Stop emailing. Use WhatsApp to contact them.

Tell them you want a replacement door and offer no alternative m.

I am 1/4 arriving in working order. My 4th one I decided to deal with waiting. I accepted a $600 refund from the dealer with the expectation of Creality providing the laundry list of parts to repair it.

4
Parts shipping takes 7-10 days in my case it’s been 12 days for most parts but the glass door arrived in 6 days.

5
Super glue holds fine just don’t remove the lining on the inside or when it does break it will be a mess to clean up later.

Just received my K2 a few days ago and also have a detached hinge, upper side for me. Ironically I bought the K2 ā€œflagshipā€ with a gift card Creality had provided after I received a defective Ender-5 Max with heat bed issues (they proactively notified me of that issue before I had even unboxed the Ender). Still waiting on delivery of Ender-5 parts.

A few e-mails in I get this response on K2:

Thank you for your response regarding about your hinge door, please try to add adhesive glue to attached the door and we will compensate regarding the issue as we no longer drill add screw on the door due to long distance delivery we await for your response or decision,

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach us back . It has been a pleasure working with you.

Umm… ā€œNoā€. In my initial chatbot sessions the links it provided were all broken, and the Americas phone support number has what sounds like a very drunk woman speaking in some language I can’t recognize at all. I finally found a US-Creality chat link and they put in a request to ā€œengineeringā€ I believe is what they called it. Responses have come every 12-48 hours via e-mail, so at least I have not been ghosted like others have experienced.

Clearly the glue solution to the problem of a screw attached door isn’t a real fix either. Maybe they should ship the door unattached in a protective sleeve just like the top panel. But telling customers to break out the popsicle sticks, duct tape, paperclips, and superglue isn’t a valid support response. If the door falls off a car in China, does the dealership tell the customer to go buy bailing wire?

Yep, mine too. I’ve attempted Glass-specific CA (super) glue. Completely didn’t work. And epoxy, but I didn’t get the alignment right. I bought mine through MatterHackers and they are requesting a door from Creality.

I bought mine directly from Creality. We also have a defective hinge. Hinge was off when we unboxed the printer.
I contacted support and still waiting for a reply.
Its such a poor design.

I’m afraid the door is going to fall off.

They will tell you to buy a new one from them, like they did me. After months of fighting with them, I requested an RMA for which they refused. I escalated it with my CC. So good luck to those who received their door not attached to the hinges. Their customer service sucks and I will never buy a Creality again.

Too bad AnyCubic printers can’t compete print quality wise, as their customer service is top-notch. Then again, their printers aren’t $1,600 either LOL.

The door is too heavy for glue/epoxy, I heard some have success with the glue used to attach a rearview mirror to the windshield of a car. Amazon.com: Permatex 81844 Professional Strength right Rearview Mirror Adhesive : Automotive

The glass needs to be cleaned, and all glue residue needs to be cleaned from both the glass and/or hinges.

October and still the same thing minus the $10… I reached out to support and had to wait 36 hours to here…

ā€œWe have noted that your order ########## included shipping insurance. According to our technical team, the front door delamination issue was caused during transportation.

In accordance with our company policy and the insurance terms, if you wish to receive a replacement 4004010268 Front Door Kit, you will need to pay $35.07 USD for the kit plus an additional $30 USD for shipping, for a total of $65.07 USD.ā€

So, I purchase their ā€œWorry Freeā€ shipping and am told that even though there was no damage to the packaging, I need to pay for it then hope that the Insurance company will honor the claim. Oh, and the claim must be filed within 7 days of receiving the shipment thus impacting the ability to seek alternative options.

Even their recommended solution is using a product that can not be purchased anywhere I can locate. I have searched forums and many have said that the glass resin listed above is failing, as well as several types of double sided tape over time.

This is exactly how to become irrelevant in the eyes of customers over time. Has any other recommendations been tried and appear proven with a significant amount of use when printing ASA or ABS?

They offered me 30.

Mine arrived broken as well. Customer service said that they would get back to me. We will see. They also wanted me to glue it, I told them I didn’t have glue or a uv light.

Mine just arrived today like this. I have messaged via ebay and whatsapp. Not a great start.

Mine had blemishes to the case as well which seems poor

Unbelievable. It’s 12/2025 and this is still an issue? I just got mine, took it out of the massive packaging and the door is hanging on one hinge.

What is best way to get a hold of them, and should we start a class action?

Mine came broken or unglued. I have a little leverage, i contacted support and asked for all the broken parts replace, i bought it certified refurbished from creality on ebay, due to it not being in the no blemish condition ebay description claimed, if they don’t send I’ll contact ebay and PayPal for my money back. It’s gauranteed by both. We’ll see how creality plays the game

Unfortunately my K2 Plus arrived this week with the same issue. I’m already regretting ever getting involved with this compny.

I paid extra for delivery damaged goods insurance from Creality so have demanded a replacementt printer.
