Is anyone else having problems with their K2 plus not cutting the filament all the way through then causing the filament to jam in the extruder and cfs??
Are you sure? It could be that your filament has worn through and is stuck in the middle of the extruder. The extruder can be removed with just three screws.
There is a spare cutter that comes with the printer. Good idea to order more, via AliExpress in packs of 5 or 10 i think.
When I take out the extruder I see that the cutter tried to cut the filament but wasn’t successful
Do you happen to have a link for the cutter plz and thanks
Here, Creality may have them too, they should of course, but, they often fail badly aound product support!

Thank you ………
Just had the filament jam in the cutter on our second test print and can’t fix it. We can’t find any instructions on how to service/fix the extruder. WTH? We’ve downloaded the user manual but it doesn’t even cover basic things, like servicing the extruder. There is a microscopic unreadable image on the extruder telling you what screws to undo to remove the extruder. any tips?? Thanks!

Thank you! We were able to finally get it cleaned out. The lack of instruction detail is sad. We just went for it and crossed our finger we didn’t break anything. Nothing broke and we were able to finally get it fixed. We found the wiki page and that helped a little. It was a pain to get the hotend cleaned out completely; took over an hour. Lots of cold pulls, adding more cleaner, cold pulling more, etc. The little plunger rod they sent in the toolkit was a good add. We made some of these years ago with stainless welding rod and they are a blessing. Anyway, now we’re afraid to try any TPU, since that is what clogged the hotend in the first place. There seems to be a lot of friction in the hotend. We run 80A TPU daily in our prusa and were hoping the K2 would handle it.
Other note, the cleaning shoot has a piece of sheet metal it drags the head across. Ours was interfering with the nozzle by at least .5mm. Seemed like it would damage the nozzle hole, so we pushed it down a little. It still drags the on the nozzle but not only interferes by maybe .1-.2mm. Hopefully not enough to damage the nozzle hole.
Cheers and Happy Holidays!
what slicer are you using and how did you get it to cut the filament properly
Didn’t want to risk not having the system work properly first time out of the gate, so we used the Creality slicer. Not in love with it. I heard it is just Cura slicer with a Creality wrap, but they’ve made it harder to use for the experienced user. The options are not readily available, not even in the expert setting. You’ve got to use the search bar, but they’ve made the search bar hard to find and use. I’m not sure if it’s something in the machine firmware, or if Creality slicer adds the moves it needs to push the head against a protrusion on the left end of the x-axis rail, This protrusion pushes the knife and a spring returns the knife. If you take the head off and inspect, you’ll see what I’m talking about. I don’t 100% trust this. obviously, it doesn’t like TPU. and if the system pushes a wee bit to hard, the TPU folds up above the hotend. Still a lot to learn, but I’ve run several parts on the machine and everything is looking really good, except the TPU. I’ve got to figure that out.
I have a pc that’s bout a year old I’ve tried to use creality slicer but when I put a stl on it and use the color option it freezes then crashes it’s annoying
The version I had before this last update they did was also crashing for me while coloring… almost every time. But since the last update no more crashes… hehe
I have a high powered gaming PC also about a year old…
I’ve heard of the problem too, but it seems to mainly affect Mac PCs. It doesn’t seem to be a problem with Windows, but feel free to correct me.
Yea it keeps happening with my pc it’s annoying ever since the update here is what I’m running id think this would be fine
I have a windows pc and creailty print didn’t ever crash on me till the update
The hardware is definitely more than sufficient, so that can’t really be the problem.
There may be a driver problem, the causes can be all kinds of problems.
Hmm how would I check my drivers by chance
DanielSan3318 has a very good point. Having run CAD on PCs for 3 decades, driver conflicts, especially video card drivers can raise havoc and be hard to diagnose. Windows updates can reinstate stock drivers which you have replaced with a “more compatible” drivers without your consent or knowledge.
