K2SE Camera?

I just bought the K2SE as a christmas gift for my son. Creality told me the K1 AI camera would work perfectly with the K2SE. However, there is no wire to plug in the camera. Does anyone have any insight on whether this camera is compatible? And where I might find the connecting wire?

Thank you!

I am in the same boat i even took off the bottom panel to look at the control board i didn’t see a spot to plug a camera in. Not much information out on the internet either. I really like the printer but almost wish i got the k1 se.

According to Creality, the only option is to buy the K1 AI camera AND an extension power cable. This allows for the camera to plug directly into the control board and still reach the camera mounts at the top of the frame.

OR you can use the generic Creality Nebula USB Camera and find a way to mount it somewhere.

This is the camera extension cable

Did either of you figure out where to hook up the extension cable and if so where do you access that area and which port do you plug into?

Where is the “K1 AI camera” supposed to be mounted? I got the enclosure and do see where mounting would work and i got the nebula camera because creality support said i should. Theres nowhere inside with the enclosure to mount it either. Im lost and frustrated forsure

There is not room to mount a Nebula camera inside the enclosure. You could make a mount to mount on the side cross bar.

I contacted Creality about the lack of a camera cable on the K2SE when they clearly show that a camera is an option on their website. It’s not plug and play as there is no cable. I contacted Creality after sales service and they sent me a cable free of charge. You can also get them on eBay. The part number for the cable is 3103110566. That part number is the same as the K1SE but plugs into socket J10 not J9 as marked on the cable. The socket is also the only available empty socket the size that’s required.

Do not chat with Creality support email the after sales support. Chat support knows nothing about the K2SE.

I have got the cable and K1 AI camera. Where does this plug in ? I can’t find any info online on where it should be plugged in or how the cable should be routed. Does it need to go to the main board by taking the bottom panel off or routed to the back and connected there ?

Check this video and see if it helps..

so im also trying to figure out if installing a camera on the K2 SE is possible

the aliexpress link provided in a few comments up does not lead anywhere anymore

what is the current method to get a camera hooked up to this thing? and people say theres no where to plug a camera in and then theres people saying that theres a port to plug it in with the extension cable, im a little confused here

There is a port on the main board (J10) and the cable runs along the right front chassis. K2SE does not have the cable - you need to make or buy one. The main board is located at the bottom of the printer under a cover that you have to remove from the bottom.

The cable is not installed on the K2SE. I don’t know why they did not include it. It is simple for them to install it and though for us to install it but it can be done. I am working on making my own cable because, right now, those cables are not available for a reasonable price. (should be $10 or less)

The main board is located at the bottom of the printer. undo the two screws on the plate that makes up the bottom and the feet. Don’t undo the others that are slightly recessed. I didn’t and I don’t know what will happen, but you don’t need to.

the big connector goes on the board at connector J10. The cable end that makes that connection should be labeled J09. then carefully feed the cable up the corner of the printer and the camera mounts on the top of the bearing holder. secure at the wires so that they don’t interfere with the printers movement. If you have a K1SE (or other K1 - the cable should already be installed. your cable would then be a spare and there are people that would be interested in getting that from you.

Did they send it free? Or charge you shipping? Cuz $30 is insane for the cable. I even asked if I could have them send it with my camera and they said no

I contacted Creality and they told me it would cost 30 for shipping but it’s been 4 weeks on playing email tag showing proof I have the stuff and nothing.. also how long does it have to be I’m trying to find one online thanks in advance

How long does the cord have to be

My cable was sent for free. I also delt with the inept chat support which seems to know nothing about the K2 SE as they sent me info and treated it like a K1 SE which has the camera cable installed or the K2 which is also different. Creality After Sales Support sent me the cable for free. I stated when contacting them that the camera is shown as an optional accessory but is not plug and play as no cable is pre installed or included with the camera. I just continued to argue until they sent what should be included.
