My KE was printing happily along until it started to leave some gaps in the outer wall. It happened overnight with no changes made to the printer or file.
What I have tried beside the obvious full calibration + vibration calibration was to replace the hot end with a new one (same model) and use a brand new opened filament roll. This is in PLA, btw. In the 2nd picture you can see the same part previously printed in the same printer, no issues.
Can you please advise what else I can change / check ?
Hello !
Just to confirm. Did you change your nozzle too ? Or just the hotend ?
In not, how old is your nozzle ?
Also, have you tried to dry your filament ? Even a new one could get humid in winter
How many print hours ago did you do the usual maintenance ? Like cleaning the rods ? or checking the belt ?
I have replaced the whoile hotend with the nozzle and all. I’m using this upgraded one. The old one was maybe 3 months old
The whole printer is less than one year old, the last maintenance was made a few months ago and I have even dried the filament.
Running more tests. The first layer below is Creality Hyper PLA (fresh), 0.2, -2,5 Z as per machine calibration. On a secon test I put the flow to 130% and the Z at -2.4 and looked better. Still, how do I calibrate the extruder on this machine ? I cannot find any menu.
Final update, the problem was a half faulty extruder that from tile to time was probably skipping, leading to the missing lines. I have replaced the extruder and now all is good again.
