Mum in need of help!

Hello!

I bought my son (12) the V3 SE and I am hoping someone can steer me in a good direction.

To start off with he just wants to print other’s designs, where is the best place to buy them?

I have downloaded the creality app is this a good one? How do I know which ones will work on the Printer we have and do I need to download all the files or do I look for one that will do it all?

Sorry for sounding useless (:woman_facepalming:) been trying to figure if out for a few days now and any help will be greatly appreciated :grinning_face:

Thanks

Abs

There are a lot of files to print that can be downloaded for free…

You can start with Crealitycloud.com and look for .stl files which would be the easiest to work with for a beginner..

Also search on this forum for files that are posted here also.

Here are good 3D printer file sites for free STL printable models. On some you will need to create a free account. Have fun.

Welcome to the forum.
Firstly find the model you want. Then slice it in a slicing software, and print it!
Slicing is the procedure where the model is sliced in layers, and a g code is created with all the information the printer requires in order to print the desired 3D model.

You’ll have to print a couple of files to see how things work. It’s not that difficult.

Hi,

Thank you both for your replies! Going to try some new stuff this weekend

Hello, since your son is starting with printing already existing designs, he can go for open-source designs available in 3D printing related forums and groups. Here are some simple designs that he can print.
