Aaargh! Switched on the printer this morning to see blue wiggly lines on the screen rather than the normal Creality logo. Firmware corrupted again? Will I need a new motherboard? Only just out of warranty!
Will try reloading again and this time I will gamble and reload the screen firmware too - unless someone on the forum advises otherwise!
I recently updated my screen and motherboard firmware to the latest. Not having done it before I followed the creality video from their support pages. Basically as per the instructions above.
It does say to install the screen firmware first using the TJC_SET folder before the motherboard firmware.
I followed the video to the letter and everything worked first time. That was about 6 weeks ago and I have used the printer lots since then with zero issues.
My screen went blank when trying to update firmware because I was trying to cure a problem with homing. after many attempts and several sd cards, I finally got a usable screen and was able to resume printing. I used the second file in the list (a file dated 2023 instead of 2025) and added βFβ before .bin to tell it the file was different than the one in the printer. this is the file that I downloaded:
