Nebula Upgrade failure

My E3 V3 SE had a critical failure with the SD card port and is unable to read off the card anymore. I got the Nebula upgrade for it and it kept giving odd issues till the firmware finally updated. However I have new issues.
First, It says “an error has occurred, please restart”, Restarting and going back through the setup menu leads back to the same screen. If I ignore it and move on, it says “your nozzle is in the wrong configuration.” and I cannot get past that.
Given the SD port has failed, I cannot update the firmware on the printer.

Hello Firohe,

Are you sure it is the SD port or just a bad SD card ?
I know the V3SE has a habit of messing of SD cards and it could be the same with their Nebula pad.
Try a brand new SD card under 8Gb formatted and see what goes.
Or did you put an SD card upside down into the Nebula pad (many people have done).

Cheers.

Apologize for the long delay. 8GB SD cards are not readily available and Amazon likes to delay my packages for some reason.

I got an 8 and managed, I think, to update the software on the printer and maybe the software for the Nebula. However in the long run, nothing has changed. The Nebula keep saying “System error, try restarting” after the system select and it tries to connect. Being able to bypass that, it says “Abnormal Nozzle! Please check according to the instructions.” However the nozzle is correct.

Going back to the original pad, it looks and operates fine, but no SD card I have tried, The 8, a 16, a 32, and a 128, none of them show print files.

I have the identical problem which has been reported to Creality, so far without any joy. Have you found an answer to this problem? The instructions for the Nebula Pad installation are far from obvious and I wonder if I’m not doing something that I should be doing.

During my troubleshooting of it, I had to get a new hotend. The nebula stopped giving me issues then and was able to configure and set up correctly. However a whole new set of issues arose after the upgrade, such as layer shift. The nebula upgrade will do that according to the reddit articles I am reading for extended troubleshooting.

Article for reference.

Many thanks for your reply. It does seem somewhat drastic having to replace the hotend. My Ender3 V3 Se is only a few weeks old and prints perfectly using the screen provided. I’ll continue to press Creality for a solution.

Many Thanks

Dave

Just to let you guys know, I had an issue upgrading to Nebula and my printer is only a few weeks old, it kept telling me Abnormal Nozzle. Eventually after lots of digging I came across a post saying that Nebula wasnt compatible with the C14 motherboard. Guess what when I checked my motherboard was a C14. I then proceeded to buy a C13 motherboard from Amazon for £26.00 and lo and behold I now have Nebula working. I think Creality should make people aware of this so as people are not buying Nebula only for it to fail. I sent all my log files to Creality when these errors happened last week and as such I have still had no response. I am also now out of pocket as I have had to pay for hardware for my new printer in order for it to work. Creality aren’t very fast at responding and I would have had this new printer sat there as a statue unable to use it.
