Is there a way to raise the head other than through the interface? If I use the interface the head wants to home before it will allow me to raise it. This became a problem when there was a large amount of hardened extruded material stuck to the nozzle. When the head went to home the hardened material crashed into the bed.

As far as I am aware all klipper based printers need to home before allowing you to move the printhead. This is usually a safety feature to prevent accidentally crashing the prinhead into the bed.

I have learned the best thing to do is to give the KE a bit of the ‘ol’ reach-around’! (If you know what I mean.) Turn off the machine and reach over to one of the Z axis screws and give it a few turns. When you get it cleaned up and restart the machine it will re-home all axes and you’ll be good to go.
