Hello,
Since I replaced the original hotend on my Ender 3 V3 KE with a ceramic hotend, I’ve been having a problem with filament extrusion; a piece of filament always remains at the outlet of the igniter.
I have to disassemble the extruder and the small PTFE tube to remove the remaining piece of filament.
Did I install something incorrectly?
Philippe
Hi
From the picture I can see you are missing the short length of PTFE tubing between the hotend and the extruder mechanism.
If you bought a Creality replacement it should have come with 2 PTFE tubes, one for the SE and one for the KE.
Fit the correct tube and your problems will be solved.
Good luck
Hi,
I removed the 28mm tube to take the photo.
I did use the tube for the KE; I just checked that the one for the SE was still in its bag.
Philippe.
Hi
OK, if the tube is fitted then check your hotend fan, is it running whilst printing?
I have a SE with the Ceramic hotend and have upgraded to a Noctua NF-A4X10 fan with a printed reduction shroud.
This could be heat creep up the unicorn nozzle causing the filament to melt too high up.

hi Philippe,
Have you solved it? I am having same issue when removing filament. Pressing the release lever help on most situations, but sometimes filament break and leave the same small stub on ptfe tube, blocking the new one to reach the nozzle.
I think it is a time configuration on firmware to allow printer to move filament out for more time, but I can found it.
Any hint will be welcome.
Tks a lot.
