Hello!
I just replaced the hot end of my Ender 3 V3 SE with a ceramic heater after installing the very same hot end at the second Ender 3 V3 SE I own.
Sadly, the newly installed one has some severe issues with underextrusion I can’t really explain to myself.
I installed everything just like I did with the other printer, and it just doesn’t work. Do you have any idea what causes this?
Hope you can help me.
With best Regards
Iris
The print started with the right ones, which had an ‘okayish’ first layer, but the second row was already horrible.
Naturally, I leveled the bed after the installation and adjusted z height afterwards with a piece of paper. Also added spray adhesive to the bed. Yet… nothing.
I believe I have found the issue.
The new fan I installed did not work, causing several blockages between the nozzle and the extruder. The first layer after the replacement also looks much better now.
Next time I will spend a few more hours trying before making a post. Sorry about that.
Its all good information. Did you stick with a stock fan or use something else?
Used cheap 4010 brushless fans for the front and left the side as is. The stock front fan was becoming loud, so I ordered replacements when I already ordered the ceramic heat block and needed tools.
As a side note:
I also do not know why, but replacing the heat end did remove my layer shifts almost completely on its own. Printed an airbrush model piece holder that needed 2.1 to 2.2mm holes, which didn’t fit due to tiny layer shifts, but it is perfectly fine for anything else, really - I guess I have to drill open the damaged screws of the belt tensioner instead of adding printed ones directly onto the belts.
