I am new to printing. I have a question about temperature settings. Do you adjust settings in the slicing software, on the printer, or both? For some models that we have downloaded the temp settings are perfect and they print great. For others the the settings look good in the software, but when we load into the printer the nozzle temp doesnt get high enough and the print fails.
Hello,
Your slicer should have a section that allows you to set the temperature for each material you want to print. Then when you slice, by selecting the material you want to print, the correct temperature is set in the gcode.
Hello @Salsue …!
Welcome to the Creality Forum…!
In addition to what @Louis-David_Desroche said you should be able to make temperature adjustments on the printer itself.
Check your slicer profile settings to see what the temperatures are.
The model files if they are stl files
themselves don’t have information as to what temperature to use…
If you are downloading and printing 3mf files they might have information for another brand of printer and different temp settings which is sent to the gcode.
You might want to use stl files for now to get the hang of it.
Thank you:)
Thank you.
I had the same question, am also new to this but this answer confuses me more! When I use creality slicer 4.8 choosing the printer ender v3 se and a material where the ‘default printing temperature’ setting in the slicer is set to print at 210C, when the slicer produces a gcode file I see the gcode file has statements like ‘M109 S205’ which means set the hotend temperature to 205C and wait until it gets there. But the material is 210C. It does print OK, but I don’t understand what the slicer is doing.
