Hello Emksr and welcome,
Generally around 200 for the nozzle and 55 for the bed works fine in my SE.
There should be no need to change any other settings.
Select generic PLA for the filament and try first, then try the temperatures I suggested if you want to see if it works any better with the change.
Cheers.
Thank you in advance.
Do you have any suggestions for retraction speed or other speeds? Sometimes the nozzle hits the print.
Hello Emksr,
I have never found a need to change anything, (other than just the temperatures for the different filaments).
I have never changed the Z offset as there was never any reason to.
The ONLY thing I have done is add the Sonic Pad to it and that kept things like the Z offset during the pre print calibration in check.
Otherwise it is as it came boxed.
Mind you, It printed quite OK anyway before the Sonic Pad.
Cheers.
Thank you. Which slicer do you use?
Hi,
I use generally Orca for the slicer.
I have never had any problems with any of their latest versions at any time.
If I decide to use a Creality slicer I use version 5.1.6xxx as any version after that, there is problems…
Generally to do with the wifi side of it; also I find it to be slower with slicing than Orca.
Cheers.
P.S. The WiFi is because I have the Sonic Pad attached to it (the V3SE does not have WiFi alone by itself.
I do suggest getting one as it makes using the printer MUCH better.
I’m printing at lower quality with Creality, and it’s a bit difficult. I use Ultimaker Cura, but it sometimes freezes and lags, but now I’m getting good prints with the settings I’ve made here.
Nozzle temperature: 220℃
Base plate temperature: 60℃
Printing speed: 150mm/s
Retraction speed: 30mm/s
Retraction length: 0.8mm
The parameters of the two types of filament are basically the same. For printing PLA Basic, the base plate temperature is recommended to be increased by 5-10°.
eSun recommended these settings
I purchased a used Ender-3 V3 SE for my son as a Christmas gift. I had never used a 3D printer before, so I’ve been learning everything from scratch to help him get started. This information has been by far the most helpful resource I’ve found anywhere online—thank you! I still have a lot to learn, but adding these custom settings to Ultimaker made a huge difference.
