Will Creality fix the Nebula Smart Kit for Ender3v3SE?

Nebula Smart Kit, a great idea, but terrible deployment for the Ender 3v3SE. Cool features, camera, amenities but there is a catch. It does not print for crap out of the box.

Stock E3v3SE is simple.

  1. turn on
  2. do calibrations.
  3. insert SD card with print file (sliced with Creality Slicer 4.8.2)
  4. print
  5. Enjoy your beautiful print.

After Nebula Smart Kit

  1. Recover from crappy install instructions, decent but not detailed enough on the smaller steps.
  2. do Calibrations (lvl, g sensor, ect)
  3. load freshly sliced file (using same STL) (creality slicer 4.8.2) from usb
  4. print
  5. Go crazy for 4 days no sleep, reading and watching every trouble shooting info i can find to fix the following problems.

Printer Bed Defaults to the Rear of Printer when done printing (pretty annoying)
Uncontrolled stringing
Shifting layers either beginning or end of prints
extruding to much or to little
communication errors with motherboard
systems freezing mid print
print failures unable to restart or if it does restart just prints more crap.

camera works very well and all the time even when system freezes lol guess that’s something.

I ended up going back to stock set up and it works wonderful.

Decided to give it another shot at installing the nebula Smart Kit. and had these problems except no motherboard connection issues or faults or freezes, still printed crappy with shifting layers and stringing. i like the camera.

i ended up going back to stock again so i can print. i have the Nebula powered with a usb so i can still view the camera online, but no cables or wires are connected to the stock printer.

For a 100$ add on kit for the Ender3v3Se this thing should be turn key (being this thing is 60% of the printer cost), just like the Stock E3v3SE is very turn key.

As a customer i should not have to look for 3rd party solutions for a Premium Product, make my own code, putty into the system with some janky hack someone on the internet made. Im not a coder, hacker, firmware creator, or anything like that.

I want to purchase the new Vehicle and drive it off the lot. I dont want to purchase the new vehicle rebuild the engine , rotate the tires, and put aftermarket parts on it, Just to have it towed to my house so i can stare at it everyday.

ARE You going to FIX This Creality!!!

Thank you, your biggest Fan!

Wow,
Where do you start.
I have the same printer V3 SE.
I also have the Nebula Kit
I now however have a very well behaved system that works extremely well for the price point.
Firstly what software did you flash onto the Nebula Pad, this is critical?
The Nebula pad takes over full control of the printer and you need the correct file for it to work correctly.
Go to Creality main site,
downloads,
ecosystem,
nebula smart kit,
3d print firmware
and you will find the file for the v3 se.
This is the file that you need. follow instructions to flash firmware and you should be good to start over with the correct software for your printer.
If you have already done this then apologies.
Good luck.

Hello Kevin_Eames,

You know i was/am very displeased with this product.

i have some days off coming up soon, i might give it another go.

Currently using the following firmware for the nebula pad , found under the creality cloud terminal, as this was the only place i found the nebula pad.

NEBULA_ota_img_V1.1.0.27.img

I am gonna do a factory reset of the nebula pad and if you think this is the correct firmware i will use it again.

One thing i noticed was that you can change the “flavor” of g code, does the nebula pad need a specific “flavor” of G code? It defaults to merlin which i herd if compatible with the klipper stuff.

also, if i see that bed default to the rear im gonna probably just abandon until the next firmware update. if they cant get that right in the firmware probably wont have much luck printing a good print.

Thank you for Replying as im not sure if i was expecting anyone to reply to my rant. Moreover, i stand by my premium product statement, this should just work no fuss, no rant, no problem right out of the box.

Thanks,

Hi

Have a look at this post and carefully read through and follow the directions, it will work.

Also the Nebula pad runs “Klipper” not “Marlin” so the gcode is different.

Maybe Creality need just adopt Ke firmware for SE with nebula pad? It`s very low difference.
