After updating firmware to 2026 update, I tried to Auto level and Automatic Z offset, and the printer would start and go to the middle of the pad and just stop and go no further. So, I tried to factory reset and the same thing happened when it came to the self-detecting stage. I have checked all the connections and they are secure, I have checked the voltage, and it is correct. I am new to 3D printing and am totally lost. Can someone help.
Hi @user3766283006 ! Welcome to the forum.
I have a few questions about your issue:
-
Does the printer display any error message or code when it stops?
-
Does the toolhead move normally in X, Y, and Z before it reaches the center of the bed?
-
Is the nozzle or bed heating correctly?
If the printer consistently stops during auto-leveling and self-detection, try:
-
Power cycling the printer completely.
-
Running a factory reset again.
-
Reinstalling the firmware (or rolling back to the previous version if possible).
I hope we will find the solution together!
Best regards,
Krzysztof
Hello !
Just to confirm, which firmware did you install ?
As far as I know, there is no “2026” update for the V3 KE
V1.1.0.17 is the last one and it was released in 2025
That is the one I installed. It said April 2026 beside it.
Okay here are the answers to your questions:
- No error messages ever, just stops and at first said failed to print.
- Moves in X and Y but not Z.
- The nozzle and bed were both working when I first tried to run the printer, but after installing the new firmware it is doing what it is doing now.
- Tried power cycling (I believe, I turned off unplugged, waited and did reverse).
- Tried running factory reset, same stopping point.
- I have tried reinstalling firmware, no effect. Have not tried to rollback to previous.

Hmm, I have no idea. I would try to rollback the previous version and check if it helps. If no, I recommend you to contact the Creality support - Ender-3 V3 KE Downloads: Firmware, Software & User Manuals. On the bottom of this page you can start online chat or submit a support ticket.
