Y motor strange noise/binding

Hi

Problem with my ender v3 se when printing a large build plate at higher speed the Y motor/bed seems to have a motor bind/grind.

The only way I can get the bed to move smoothly is by removing the wiring harness from the back of the Y stepper motor, people have suggested this could be a short either on the logic board or the wiring harness.

The printer is less than 12 months old and if I’m honest as I haven’t printed a large build before didn’t really notice the issue?

Shared a video (and yes now I know moving the bed like this isn’t great)

The shop here in the UK have offered me to return the printer to be fixed or replaced but I have added extras to the printer and be a right faff returning it by post!

Hi
Have you lubricated the linear bearings on the 2 bed rods?
Does the bed make the same noise when the printer is powered off?
Let us know.

As stated the only way the bed runs smoothly is by removing the wiring harness from the stepper motor!
Either powered or unpowered the motor binds regardless

The binding doesn’t come from the linear rails at all.

Having said that the first thing I tried was making sure everything was clean and greased.

For anyone with a similar problem I think I may have the solution.

The shop I brought the printer from sent out the main board as a warranty repair, that didn’t fix the issue but strangely did highlight that when moving the bed the CR touch would power up!?

Disconnected the connector from the CR touch on the extruder PCB and now the bed runs smoothly.

Something on the CR touch is causing the short?

The shop I brought the printer from now won’t help with the CR touch as they initially wanted the whole printer back!

So will reality cover the warranty?
