Hello guys, Im new to 3d printing and unfortunatelly got the luck of get a printer with problem.
Ive installed everything following the manual but on my first auto leveling it start to damage the printing bed. It did the mapping and auto configured the z-offset but after my first attempt printing it didnt work cuz the Nozzle was too high in relation to the bed, wasnt even close to touching.
After a few searches I found how to adjust the Z-offset by placing a paper and go down the z-offset untill it barelly touches the paper and I couldnt.
The z-offset reached the z-offset limit which is -10 and the nozzle isnt even close to the bed.
UPDATE: I found out that the Z-axys was set on 10 thats why I wasnt able to configure it manually, but, the auto leveling still damaging the bed as the video show
I found a article saying thats an assembly problem, related to something called limit switch. The fact is that I havent found any video or well explained article to help me. I dont understand anything about printing so all this terms are very hard to me understand, and Im almost giving up.
Anyone could help me?
Check the video from the auto leveling proccess. after homing and cleaning the nozzle, it starts to damage the bed (Ive already lose 2 beds, the original and one I bought )
Older enders had a z limit switch the V3SE doesn’t have that. Instead it uses the CRtouch probe and the strain gauge in the corner of the bed. Check the board under the bed is connected, its might be glued but it can come loose. Then redo bed levelling.
Hey dude I was able to fix the z-offset problem by setting the Z-axys to 0 which was in 10.
But on auto leveling it’s still damaging the bed as the video show. do you know how to help me?
In that corner of the bed is where the strain sensor is. If you remove the flexible build plate you should see 4 screws in the bed, remove these completely you should see the sensor and the board that it is attached to (bit of care as there are different length spacers). Check the connections. If it still fails then perhaps the sensor has gone bad, contact to CS for a replacement part or purchase it on Aliexpress.
The amount it is pressing into the bed I reckon there might be something up with the strain sensor. it should only be a light touch onto the bed well that is all it does on my V3SE and V3KE, same sensor setup.
Hey man, Ive disassembled the bed and this is the board, its glued like you said but seems dont have any problema. So your guess is that this board is damaged and need to be replaced?
They may be glued but they can still come loose. I’d disconnect the connectors and reseat them to be sure it is properly connected. On Aliexpress there is a new strain sensor and board assembly available. But I would check all the connections on the hotend board too.
But you sure that is this sensor whats causing the auto leveling problem? cause I could print a boat normally after manually set the z offset and the z axis, it seems the real problem happen just when it try auto adjust the z axis and z offset which cause it damage the bed
Just think it is that sensor as it should sense the nozzle touching the bed lightly rather than trying to smash through it. On mine it just kisses the bed. Check the Crtouch is also working, that’s all part of the levelling too,
CRTouch is the thing which touches the bed before start the auto leveling right?
I dont have any idea how to check if thats working well, it touches as the video shows
I guess Ill try the customer support from Creality, I think is give a shot in the dark buy the sensor bellow the bed.
Do you know where is the right place to contact about technical problems?
interesting, they’re facing the same issue as me. and no, I havent before, actually I dont even know how exactly describe the problem in a way people would describe so actually I dont know how to search about my problem (Im not native speaker and my vocabulary poor)
Ive contact them from the website chat and now they’ve send it to the technical team to take a look. unfortunatelly the dudes from the post you sent seems be away from forum so idk if they will answer if they was able to fix it
Hello, for who may someday wonder the end of the story. I ended up contacting Creality Suport from online chat in their website and they’re sending me a build plate, strain gauges and leveling plate replacement base in warranty.
I had sort of the same problem. After reading this posting from the start, I decided to try it on my V3 SE and it worked. I naow have been printing all day today and not one error. I removed hte plate and pressed the connections in and dusted everywhere with a paint brush, then I removed hte base plagte from under hte printer and cleaned everywhere with a paint brush, even the fan and checked by pressing all connecxtions. I then put the printer back together and tried to level the bed and it worked, then I started to pring a large square to set hte Z-offset. I got it down to -1.64 where it was printing the best lines. I might buy a sensor board from AliExpress just in case the sensor board does go altogether. I already have a spare bed plate and a full hot end to replace if hte original goes wrong.
This helped me out a lot and I got my printer working again. Many thanks for posting this.
Before I found this post, I put a post on this site about the problem with mine and also messaged Creality through Amazon from where I bought my V3 SE as it is still under warantee (I bought it |Feb this year). I googled the problem and after looking at a few posts and then finding this one, this is the one I went with.
So, Bonfireman is a saviour and knows his business. Many thanks.
