Hi, I have an ender 3 V2 Neo and I have the same issues mentioned above but can’t figure it out. Which firmware file did you use? Did you use the *.bin file “Ender3V3SE_firmware” from the “3D Print Firmware” or did you download the latest firmware for the Neo printer?

Yes, I have the complete kit with the camera, pad and g sensor.
ok, you need install firmware NEBULA_ota_img_V1.1.0.26.img, not install firmware printer.
- Take the SD card that came with the machine format it in FAT32 with 4096 for unit allocation.
- Put the card in the machine with the Nebula Smart Pad attached. (DO NOT HAVE THE G SENSOR ATTACHED)
- Turn on the machine and follow the prompts on the Smart Pad.

Worked now for me as well! Thank you for all the clarifications 
I struggled a bit because it was not clear what files to use. The file to put on the SD and then in the printer (not the pad) was Ender3V3SE_firmware.bin which does not come with the Pad and must be downloaded. You would think that you would need a different bin file for each type of printer (mine was an SE). No idea why they have the image files.

Not the img file from the pad but the bin file of the ender-3 v3 se that is necessary for installing the nebula smart kit
Doesn’t the Nebula write it’s own firmware to the SE, my Sonic pad wrote its own.
Get it from the Creality website.

Hi im curently upgrading my ender v2 neo with the nebula pad kit ive tried all the solutions yall have given before and i keep getting the same “machine motherboard communications error” and my motherboard is the 4.2.2 ive tried everything i can think of and all the previous comments its super frustrating
If thats the case then why are all the updates not .bin they are all .img?
SONIC PADS WAY BETTER THAN THE NEBULA BUT THE NEBS MADE FOR NEXT GEN SO V3 MODELS, SADLY BTHE NEBULA P[AD IS REALLY P**S POOR AND SUBSTANDARD, REALLY JUST A CONNECTION FOR WEB TOOL… CREALITY HAVE DROP[PED THE BALL BADLY OF LATE IM MOVING TO BAMBU MACHINES WAYYY BETTER!!!
THE KE AND SE HATE CURA, ORCA AND ANY NON PRINT 6 SOFTWARE, STICK WITH PRINT 6, IT S**S ALL OVER CURA AND THE 3RD PARTY GARBAGE
You obviously don’t read the forum much.
There are many suggestions of using Orca rather than CR 6.
I for one use Orca on my V3SE rather than have the misgivings of CD 6xxxx.
