Ender 3 V3 SE Y axis grinding noise "FIX"

Just got back from a holiday today and they are going to be fitted tomorrow. Seem to be nicely made parts. Though they are 9mm rails rather the 12mm that I fitted on my KE, will see what difference that makes.

Yeah have ordered the same in the sale wonā€™t be here for a bit

Had noticed there are very variable prices for the same kit, think I saw one for less than Ā£10 (X axis)

Just measured the KE X axis and it is a 12mm rail, which will be why there a couple of packing spacers for the 9mm rail kit.

Yeah think I got both for about Ā£30

Could swap the rails out for 12s if can find cheap in a bit but for the price canā€™t beat it I thought

X axis seems to be fine. The Y axis is not so great, probably just needs a little fettling for parallelism. Back to the rods whilst I take some measurements.

Noticed a couple of things. The drive belt bracket is in slight interference with the new plate, filed a couple of tenths off and it clears. Also note that the carriage is lower by about 4mm so it gets a little close to the lip above the Creality logo, Iā€™ve added M3 washers under the rail fixing screws to jack it up a little (might have cleared the drive belt bracket with these). With the rail screws lossened run the carriage up and down a few times to relieve any binding, nip them up lightly and run the carriage up and down checking for binding, now fully tighten the rail screws and it should be nice and parallel. I did this on the workbench before fitting to the printer, but just easy whilst it is fitted.

The X axis rail could do with a central spacer in addition to the outer spacers, perhaps the spacers are unnecessary, might give that a try before printing another spacer.

Thanks for the detailed feedback mate.

Will help when I receive mine donā€™t think we got from the same sellers but must all be from the same place I would guess

Vase printed at 4x speed that Creality Print 4.8 created. Sunlu PETG. Tried that before with the old roller setup and it didnā€™t like it. Didnā€™t bother with a centre spacer, I simply moved the spacers inboard by 3 holes. Happy with it so far.

looks great mate

Did think about linear rails on the Ender 5 plus but it would cost 5x the amount. The amount Iā€™ve spent on that beast I could have bought a couple of K1s :open_mouth:

Next mod a KE style hotend, dual 4010 filament cooling and I shall add a Noctua 40mm 24V fan for the heatsink/hotend. Should get that done by Monday.
