New Ender 3 v3 KE won't complete first time auto leveling

Thank you. I will let you know later. I will first try resetting the firmware through external USB drive. If that won’t work then I will probably check the MB.

The was a tremendous help.
I have a cr10se that randomly died after a few small prints.

I never actually started off with “sprayhead mother communication error” with no codes.

For over 6 weeks creality tech support had little attempt to help. Eventually i asked for a shipping label which led them to ghost me for 3 weeks. Every day i would ask for a follow up on chat support with no really follw up other them "trust us’'. About to throw in the towel i gave it one last shot. Somehow i landed on this thread. Which led to me try again with just the cr touch Unplugged. High sign of relief when my the printer acted differently. Bed and hotend actually heated up followed by the crtouch error.

For reference, if i unplug the main harness into the board or have the main harness plugged in and all the other plugs in the board unplugged i would still get the “sprayhead motherboard communication error” which is why i never tried to isolate just the crtouch. Even startup it would take 3-5 minutes before i get out of the generic “creality” start up screen.

As for the cr touch, i opened the plastic encloser and saw that a tiny wire was ever so slightly pinched. I honestly thought this definitely couldn’t be the culprit and probably just have a bad cr touch. Well guess what. That pinched wire was the bane of my existence. My printer finally without any hicccup went through its own motion that lead me to print! One day earlier i was ready to cut my losses and start fresh with a different manufacturer. I still probably will as i have zero faith in creality but i now hope problems would be manageable. 4moth old printer.

Thanks! I had the same issue and couldn’t figure it out. I totally missed this step in setup.

Hey, I ran into this issue myself. I luckily have two ender 3 v3 KE machines and I swapped the z level board and sensor and shown in the image below, this was the issue I was facing. I now just need to get the new parts so I have both up and running instead of one.

Wow. Thanks for sharing.
And the smiles whenever I see them calling the hotend a Sprinkler or Spray Head.

Hi everyone!
new in 3d printing and got an Ender 3 V3 KE last month.
I ran into almost the same issue as many of you, with error key 2401.
This appeared for me after maybe 10 printings.

First it started with issue to get correct distance to the printing board. The nozzle enden 3-4mm above the bed, with bad printing as result.
First the calibration did not work, but after printed a design from the USB it was okey again.

But today when marking the “Calibration before printing” checkbox the nozzle ended up in some old filament attached to the bed due to bad cleaning.
After it the key 2401 showed.

Luckily i managed to solve it thanks to all you guys.

  1. Factory reset 3 times
    Result: Not working
  2. Lifted the print bed off and only looked at the cabels, looked good.
    Result: Not working
  3. Followed the link @creator25 linked (luckily i knew this before) and leveled the Z-level correctly. It was maybe 0.5-1mm difference between the sides. First i used a spiritleveler and also a yardstick to adjust it.
Result: No error appeared and the self-test was ok.

Now printing one junctionbox to my reolink camera.

Thanks everyone

You don’t need to spirit level a 3D printer, you can print upside down if the Z-offset is right. What you do need to do is make sure that the gantry is parallel to the bed, that bit is important.

Hi
I think i was a bit confusing in my anser. I used the spiritlevel to level the gentry, It was not 100% parallel to the bed.

This was also the solution in how my 2401 error disappeared

2 tins of beans (cans of beer etc) or 2 Pritt stick between bed and gantry is a good quick check.

I hear what you say, but without being rude to you,

I only replied with my answer in how i did to fix it.

I do know all this…

Fair play, more than one way to skin a cat, at least you fixed it.

This is how I solved my issue.

1: checked leveling and it was OK (not resolved)
2: reset machine twice (not solved)
3: unplugged machine (not solved)
4: moved my machine to a seperate table with no vibration from other printers (SOLVED)
