System error, try restarting

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out in hopes of getting some advice or insight regarding my Ender 3 V3 KE. I recently opened up the printer to install an LED mod and am now unable to use the printer. It says “System error, try restarting” after booting.

  • I fiddled around with the hardware/connections when the printer was power, this might have cause the issue?
  • I can use the menu’s in de the LCD when I do “fault reporting” and then browse the menu
  • I can connect to the web interface by IP
  • as a test I disconnected all hotend connected hardware, no differences
  • I exported the logs and I see below errors:
mcu 'mcu': serial connection closed
mcu 'mcu': timeout on connect
mcu 'mcu': unable to connect

What can be the problem, and how can I pinpoint the real issue?

Not sure if this would help but maybe try a factory reset as shown here by @Lensman

Also what kind of wiring was involved with your LED mod since it seemed to cause this problem…?

Thanks!

  • I didn’t actually do anything with the LED mod yet, since the problems occurred before I could start. The only real thing I did was disconnect some/a couple of the hot end cables. The flat cable, for sure.
  • I will try the factory reset, and report back the outcomes, thanks!
  • Question; how would I know if the main board is working, does it have any LEDs or something to indicate it’s powered up?

I did a factory reset. I also reattached and checked all cables. But it stays the same, no difference.
